project funding

In short:

  • Your work falls within the broad definition of media art : from artist film to sound art and from bio-art to software or hardware development.

  • After selection you will have one year to produce the work.

  • This funding is available for (not yet) professional media artists.

Do you need support to develop your media art project? At BREEDBEELD, you can apply for up to €1,000 to create work that explores the intersection of art and technology. The open call for this project funding will launch in February 2026. So be sure to keep an eye on the website.

Below you'll find the regulations and all application documents. Submit your application by completing all the steps in the form below.

What can you apply for support for?

The project must fall within the broad definition of media art, ranging from artist's film to sound art and from bio-art to software or hardware development. In short, work that explores the boundaries between art and technology.

You can apply for €500 or €1,000 , an amount you can spend on the production of your work. As a creator, you choose how to spend your budget, such as purchasing wood, renting a camera, mentoring, or a day in a fablab.

What is the production period?

After selection, you'll work independently on your project. You have one year to produce the work. You must have spent the requested amount and completed your project by Monday, January 4, 2027 .

In May, BREEDBEELD will open its doors to Draft Mode, a relaxed public event where creators can share their work-in-progress. Selected participants and other creatives will have the opportunity to give each other feedback in a relaxed setting. No pressure to finish anything: it's all about sharing, experimenting, and growing.
