summer school
25 - 29.08.2025

Dive into the world of 3D sculpting and printing for five days during Div.fuse Summer School. Together with a group of 20 participants, you will explore the overarching theme of 'Alternative History'. What if history had been different? What objects, symbols or monuments would exist then?
You will learn to work with Blender, a powerful 3D modeling program, with which you can develop your own objects from idea to digital model. Under the guidance of experienced makers Fons Artois and Mathias Mu, you will combine technical skills with conceptual thinking: from a first sketch to a tangible, printed end result.
During the week there is room for experiment, collaboration and creativity. You get the chance to visualize your own vision, but also to brainstorm with others and shape stories in 3D.
The week will conclude with an informal presentation where the public is welcome to view your created works, engage in conversation and reflect on 'what could have been'.
Have you always wanted to create something that doesn't exist yet? This is your chance!
Registration is possible until 15.08.2025, but the workshop may be fully booked earlier.

About the instructors

Mathias Mu is a multidisciplinary artist and researcher based in Antwerp. In his practice, Mu embraces speculative worldbuilding, digital folklore and techno-romanticism in relation to nature. Mu creates objects, environments, interactive installations and sound works, using digital fabrication techniques such as 3D printing and responding to technological developments to explore their potential for artistic expression. Driven by an interest in belief and symbolism, his work moves in a space between the organic and the artificial.

Fons Artois is a 3D artist. He studied media art at KASK. Passionate about bio-art, eco-futurism, animation and games, he thinks creatively about the future.

This project is a collaboration with School of Arts KASK & Conservatorium HOGENT-Howest.
