This workshop will sharpen your listening skills and introduce you to a new approach to sound development. Through the dynamic world of patch cables, you'll explore the art of Modular Synthesis. This hardware-driven method of generating sound lets you build complex sonic landscapes by connecting various modules together. With the ability to shape and control these sounds using switches, sliders, and patch panels, you'll unlock new possibilities in sound design.

 

We’ll start in the morning by exploring the basic principles of VCV Rack (this software is free, open-source, and easy to install on your computer). After lunch, we’ll dive deeper into the warm sounds of various modular synthesizers, studying both the digital and analog worlds.

 

This workshop is suitable for everyone (both beginners and advanced users) who want to explore or become familiar with a broader perspective on generating electronic sounds.
